We asked Claire a few questions about work and play.
- What does your working day consist of?
- My work day begins with a serious dose of caffeine! Once my brain has been sufficiently stimulated, I ensure all necessary due diligence is tracked and updated for the sites we are working on. The process involves a lot of client/vendor coordination as well as work on spreadsheet trackers (which I’m not particularly fond of but have come to value). Organization and caffeine are the keys to a successful day!
- How do you spend your free time?
- I truly love the outdoors, so most of my free time is spent there. I play in four soccer leagues which takes most of my time during the week. I also enjoy mountain biking on trails in the area, or just lying on the hammock in my garden.
- Favorite Food?
- I am an equal opportunity eater. I love to discover a food I’ve never tried before. In the last few years I’ve shifted toward vegetarianism, so that has slightly limited my “everything goes” approach to food.
- What four people would you invite (from any point in history) to eat with you?
- I know it’s cliché, but Jesus definitely tops my list! I’d also invite Deepak Chopra and Eckhart Tolle to round out the discussion on spiritual enlightenment. Finally, I’d like to invite my grandmother, who died before I was born. I don’t know much about her, but I do know is she was an amazing woman with a very interesting life story.
- Favorite Place?
- My favorite place is the mountains of North Carolina in the Fall. There is true peace in the silence that comes with being in the middle of nowhere, watching the leaves float to the ground.
- My (ex) best kept secret?
- I won a competition when I was 12 years old to be the model for Totes rain ponchos. (This was my first and last competition.) I was on the cover of the Totes rain poncho box for years, and when my college friends saw the box at Publix, they never let me live it down. Thankfully, they have updated the box and I’m no longer on the shelves!
