We asked Steve a few questions about work and play.

What does your working day consist of?

I help clients determine their needs, and then work in our A & E team to flesh out designs that meet those needs.  I enjoy getting involved with the clients on their initial site evaluations, and following the site design through to construction.

How do you spend your free time?

I enjoy cycling, swimming, and following the development of electric vehicles.  In the next year, I should be able to commute to work on an electric scooter that I recharge with electricity from a back-yard photovoltaic array.

Favorite Food?

I’ve always been partial to vegan lasagna, but I recently found a recipe for a spectacular lentil loaf.  One of the best lasagna recipes I’ve found is online at http://www.cok.net/lit/recipes/dinner.php.

What four people would you invite (from any point in history) to eat with you?

I’d like to find out what Mohandas Gandhi (in his older years) would have to say to a young Henry Bergh.  Inviting Upton Sinclair for a cynical view of the conversation and James Herriot to add some gentle humor should make for an interesting evening.

Favorite Place?

Canaveral National Seashore always seems to have perfect waves, and the beach is clean and uncluttered.  It’s natural Florida at its best.  The only buildings in view are the space shuttle launch complexes at Kennedy Space Center.

My (ex) best kept secret?

A secret?  I don’t keep secrets…no, really.
